You may have seen some ads touting the truth behind vapor kits. Discover the shocking truth behind these ads.
The ads appear to be part of some sort of lifestyle journal offering sage advice, but in reality, it is an advertising vehicle for penny stocks, sleeping and weight loss supplements, and electronic cigarettes.
The electronic cigarettes they “reviewed” were only from ecigignite.com, a site that offers “free trials”, so in reality; the “truth behind vapor kit" ads you may see on google and yahoo feature www.thequittingjournal.com is that these are currently disguised pitch sites for ecigignite.com.
These “free trial” offers are typically not very good deals in comparison to what we offer at smokepower.com, as we will show in a heads up comparison between the two.
The “free trial” offer is for a package that has 1 charger, 1 atomizer, 1 battery, and 5 cartridges. For this, they charge $4.95 for shipping. Keep in mind, the actual cost of the kit, however is $109.67, so the total cost is $114.62…for a single battery, atomizer, charger, and 5 cartridges, including shipping.
Now, if you do not cancel within 14 days, which per the terms and conditions appears to include the delivery time from them to you, which likely reduces the trial period by 2-3 days, you will be charged the $109.67 and enrolled in their automatic refill program, which will result in a delivery of 24 cartridges each 30 days, which are non-refundable once shipped, at a cost of $69.62. Total cost for the first month is $114.62 + $69.62 = $184.24 for 29 cartridges, 1 atomizer, 1 battery, and 1 charger.

"Free electronic cigarette" they say just pay a nominal shipping and handling fee, usually under $10 for which they need your credit card info. Many people would describe an offer nominal charge involved in a “free” trial would render the offer as not free.

Some even go further to start the 14 day trial time from the day of shipping from the warehouse to the customer in the 14 day trial period and requiring reciept of the returned product within 30 days of the original order!
This means your actual trial period could be shortened to perhaps 10 or 11 days and starts before you ever receive the product. The trickeration doesn't end there, though, since by failing to cancel in this short window, they will also start automatically shipping you cartridge refills at sky high prices, for which they will automatically charge your credit/debit card for each month. For example one company sends 24 cartridges for $69, another charges $79 for 10 refills.
Many customers have complained of poor customer service when they try to cancel these orders as well. Emails go unanswered, phone calls ring but are never picked up, voicemails are left without return calls and yet the recurring billing doesn't stop. Additionally, many of these companies are no longer in business, so if you have any sort of warranty or return issues in the future, they may or may not be around to help. Why risk doing business with a fly by night operator?
